This booklet provides a basic overview of how carbohydrates influence blood glucose levels in relation to a patient’s daily insulin needs, and helps educate patients on how to better manage insulin doses and timing of administration based on what and when a patient eats. It also contains a section for educators and patients to track their insulin use, and introduces patients to the basics of insulin such as insulin types, onset, peak, and duration of action.
